Passengers displaying signs of illness were taken straight to the hospital on arrival. Most were nursed back to health but not all.The hospital staff scrubbed the walls and floors of the wards with disinfectant and changed the bedding frequently. The staff cleaned themselves before and after duty as well. Post Mortems were sometimes performed along with experiments that helped develop immunisation against disease.Reports show that the level of dedication amongst the nurses and doctors was very high - they worked very long hours during times of crisis.
